Tofino - Cabin - Hotsprings
This is my favorite trip of all-time

CLICK SPOILER[spoiler]

^^Best Accomodations EVER!!! I love all the new appliances that look really old. You have to stay at this place to truly appreciate the attention to detail

^^View from the floatplane

^^These hotsprings run right out into the ocean :)

^^Normally these hotsprings are jammed pack full of 20-30 tourists. The cheap way is to go with a bunch of people by boat...When we landed the boats were headed back to tofino and we had the springs all to ourselves :)

Quadra Island trip then up to Port McNeil Whale watching
« Reply #4 on: 19 July 2013, 09:30:49 »
CLICK SPOILER[spoiler]
^^First Oceanfront cabin we stayed at...the nicer of the two but not much to do there

^^This cabin was not as nice on the inside but the view was much nicer and they had complimentary canoes you could take out anytime you wanted. It was awesome!!! This is on quadra Island a short ferry ride from Campbell River

^^From Quadra Island we drove up to meet the ol'ladies mom to go whale watching in telegraph cove (Port McNeil)

^^Trying to catch a picture of a whale is harder then it looks lots of these kind of pics...lol

^^Woot finally got one...this is a humpback whale

^^We saw 4 Different pods of Orcas (Killer Whales) It was insane...they are easily identifiable because the different pods have their own language and sound very different. You could listen to them on the boat...they had speakers beneath the water...was really cool!!

^^There were like 100 of these Porpoises (Dolphin cousins) jumping and swimming around the boat...these pictures do not do this justice...you could see them all around the boat swimming and jumping 50 meters in all directions...

^^Us in the cabin of the boat

^^This is unrelated...this is a hike in Duncan up a small mountain. There are dozens of even more beautiful places I've been but a lot of them i did not want to be burdened with a camera...also I am leaving a lot out...another of my favorite places is botanical beach in Port Renfrew...there is simply too much to see. Ive lived here for almost 20 years and still havent seen everything :)

Indeed :)
We also have some of the biggest trees in the world...surpassed only by China and the redwoods in California <-- which I have seen and is one of my favorite places outside Canada :)

The hot springs are beautiful...the best way to enjoy them is to stay at the lodge on the island so you can walk there when you want. If you go on a boat tour you have to share with waaay too many people and don't get much time in them
